"This book, as well as being entertaining and engaging, communicates a variety of important messages. It gives insight into how a fearful and anxious dog likely experiences the world around them and highlights that there is help available for dogs with such issues.
In doing so, from Dylan the dog's perspective, it also potentially provides a means for children, who may have similar issues a way of relating their own fears and anxieties to that of Dylan's. This in turn may allow them to speak more easily about their fears and get the help required."

"Karen and Dylan have worked with children at Buckminster school previous to the publishing of 'Where's Dylan?' The children were enthralled by the characters and storyline and felt it come alive once they met Dylan in person. The illustrations are powerful reminders of how we can feel when anxious and the story has been sympathetically told through the eyes of a pet."

Review of book two, "Two's Company" by Isobel Garrod aged 11:
"My son is 11 years old and always struggled with reading and never found any book interesting but you inspired him when you came to speak at his new secondary school and he begged me to buy your books, he is now hooked and can't put it down I am so grateful to you I am hoping this is the start of a bright reading future all thanks to you"

Book 4:"As the familiar characters face their loss, the narrative is life affirming, modelling coping strategies such as the importance of enjoying the here and now, and being mindful of valuing every moment. Celebrating Finn's life around the campfire is a model of the importance of the continuing bonds that are so helpful when coping with loss. The new pups remind the young reader of the green shoots of future hope.
Karen has been bold and courageous in her treatment of this subject, empowering young people to mirror that boldness and courage in their reading of it.

"It was awesome having Karen and Dylan in school."
"I liked the fact that she was an actual author because I love writing. I have always thought of being an author and now I have seen an author I think I can become one."
"I thought it was very interesting it is nice to have someone in to talk about their life and share things. Karen came in and talked about how she started as an author. When I got home I wrote a poem about Dylan straight away."
